Artists impressions: DRC elections 2007

With the public losing trust in Congo’s political system, artists in DRC have now turned critical of the government through political paintings that illustrate the people’s frustrations in getting a free and fair system. Frontrunner President Joseph Kabila is depicted as a rat with a number-1-sign. Kabila won 44% of the vote and Bemba, the lion in the painting, won 20%. Read more

Africalia Initiative; For cultural projects in Africa…

Africalia, an initiative of the Belgian Development Co-operation, is calling for proposals.
